WHAT?

What am I doing here?

Honestly, I am not sure. The desire is to share the path to becoming an artist during the latter years (55+) in today’s modern world.

The days of galleries and gatekeepers (while they still exist and function) being the only path to becoming an artist is in the past. The internet and personal laptops/tables/phones have opened the artist to the world. Social media is a driving force to getting artwork out and seen my millions.

Navigating this path can be a challenge for those of us who were born before the technology. It’s not a matter of changing our thinking, it is a matter of taking our time and realizing that today’s technology is harder to learn (not impossible) in this fast paced world we not live. It may also mean taking classes, hiring an assistant to help with tasks that prove too much, and maybe needing a team to work the business side of art.

One of my favorite methods of getting my art out there, is booths art shows, festivals, events, etc. While I need to partake in the modern methods of being an artist; having a booth where I can demonstrate what I do, meet people in person, share why I create, and see their faces when people react to the work brings back the personal touch. I love meeting the people who are drawn to my work in person.

Signing Off.

P.S. I am still learning how to format this blasted blog.
