Mexican Spider Monkey Watercolor Painting
While the red panda is maybe my favorite animal at the Nashville Zoo, I have to say this was my favorite painting from the Nashville Zoo. As I posted photos of the painting progress for this one, there was some controversy.
The reason for the painting: my eldes granddaughter. She has wanted a monkey for years. I decided to paint the Mexican Spider Monkey from our Nashville Zoo trip behind the fencing with a solemn look. Zoos, refuges, and other places play an important role to keep this endangered species from extinction. However, I want her to remember that keeping a wild animal, because “it is cute and adorable” is not something I want her to learn. I am hoping she remembers this painting and our discussion at the zoo as she grows up.
Painted in Professional Winsor & Newton watercolors on 100% cotton rag archival HP watercolor paper.
Finished size is 11”x14”.
This painting is also available as a special LIMITED EDITION of 25 - 11”x14” Giclee quality prints, and 75 - 8”x10” Giclee quality prints. They arrive ready to frame in a standard frame.
Each limited edition print is hand signed, numbered, dated, and printed by a professional, high quality printer using archival 100% Cotton paper designed to last a lifetime.
